Distribution Agreement

We're very pleased to announce that as of January we are now signed with L. Knife & Son and Craft Brewers Guild to provide for distribution through the greater Boston area, the Cape & Islands, the South Shore and South Coast, and all of Central and Western Massachusetts.  This partnership will allow for a larger distribution area and will allow us to focus on recipe formulation and rolling out new beers!

2017 was an incredible year for us, and we' can't wait to bring you more delicious beers in 2018!

The Tempest Arrives

Just this week we launched our second beer,  the Tempest, an imperial IPA that packs a bit more of a punch than Act One.  We used six different hops in the Tempest, and carefully balanced them to make sure they all play well together.  The end result is a fruity, hoppy IPA that is balanced with just the right amount of bitterness.

The arrival of the Tempest coincides with our expansion to a total of 50 stores and restaurants in the greater Boston area, stretching as far north as Belmont, as far south as Plymouth, and as far west as Framingham.  We've slowed our sales effort a bit so as be sure we can focus on our core accounts for now, but hope to continue expansion of our footprint in the New Year, potentially with the help of a distributor.

We hope you enjoy Shakesbeer over the holidays and share it with your friends and family, and we look forward to launching some more new brews in 2018!

40 Venues and Counting!

We're now just about 2 months into this adventure and feeling the momentum building.  By the end of this week we'll be in 40+ restaurants and retailers, stretching as far south as Plymouth and as far north as Belmont.  Our tasting schedule has been full, and it's been a lot of fun meeting a lot of Shakesbeer (and Shakespeare) fans at these events! We're continuing to crank out Act One and are looking forward to releasing our second brew, The Tempest, in about 8 weeks!

Almost two weeks in....

...and we're on a roll!   The community support has been incredibly impressive, and the beer is moving quickly.  This week we're excited to add Square Cafe in Hingham and Craft Beer Cellar in Braintree to our growing list of restaurants and retailers.  We're also looking forward to our next brew day in late August for a double-size, 30 barrel batch, with more kegs to accommodate restaurants looking to put us on tap.  And, we're working our R&D to continue honing our recipe for our next offering, tentatively slated for release in late November.  More to come...

Brew Day

Brew Day

Just finished a long brew day, with 15 barrels of Act One now in the fermenter while the yeast do their magic.  Most will be in 16 ounce cans, with the balance going into a few kegs.  Canning/kegging day tentatively scheduled for August 2nd, with beer on the shelves a few days afterwards!

Final Pilot Batch Approved!

After a full second round pilot batch, our Act One recipe is fully ready to go.  We've made minor tweaks to the haziness of the finish and the ratio of different hops being used in the dry hop process, and in the end we've got exactly what we've been looking for - a juicy, easy-drinking New England Style IPA with an ABV that won't knock you out after just one.  The first full batch is slated for a Thursday, 7/13 brew day!
